As part of their learning about rivers, mountains and pollution, Year 4 were delighted to welcome Laura Harrison, Sophie's mum, into school to talk about Wales' new Deposit Return Scheme.

The children learned how returning empty drinks containers can help reduce litter, protect our environment and encourage recycling. A special well done to Sophie, who confidently helped her mum deliver the presentation to the class.

Inspired by what they had learned, a group of children then took the initiative to organise their own litter pick during break time. Without being asked, they collected litter from around the school grounds, showing fantastic teamwork, responsibility and pride in caring for their environment.

We are incredibly proud of their actions. They demonstrated that even small acts can make a big difference and truly lived out our school motto of Learning, growing and succeeding together.
