Staying Safe Around Water

On Thursday 9th July, our Year 4 and Year 5 pupils welcomed Cliff and Lindsey from Whitmore Bay Lifeguards for an engaging and informative assembly all about water safety.

With the summer holidays fast approaching, this was a timely opportunity for children to learn how to stay safe around the coast, rivers and open water. The assembly covered important messages about recognising hazards, making safe choices and knowing what to do in an emergency.

Our pupils impressed everyone with their excellent listening skills, thoughtful questions and their existing knowledge of water safety. It was wonderful to see them so engaged throughout the session.

A huge thank you to Cliff and Lindsey for giving up their time to deliver such a valuable and memorable assembly. Their expertise and enthusiasm helped ensure that our children are better equipped to enjoy the summer safely.

To make sure every child benefits from these important safety messages, the presentation will also be shared with the year groups who were unable to attend the assembly, allowing teachers to revisit the key learning in class.

At Romilly, we are committed to helping children develop the knowledge and confidence they need to keep themselves and others safe—both in school and beyond.
