Military Children
At Romilly Primary School, we recognise that a child of a Service Family may experience unique circumstances and, at some point in their life, need support. This may be with their learning, social interactions, settling into new routines or situations (at home and in school), emotional literacy and/or mental health and wellbeing. We believe Service Children should have the same entitlement as other pupil groups to receive support and intervention throughout their education.
Miss Patterson is our assigned Service Children Coordinator. She is dedicated to supporting our Service Children and their families with targeted provision. Through funding success, Miss Patterson has already been in contact with our current Service Children and parents and provided interventions and enrichment provisions for our Service Children.
The SSCE Cymru definition of a Service child is:
A person whose parent, or primary carer, serves in the regular armed forces, or as a reservist, or has done at any point during the first 25 years of that person’s life.
The definition of a Service child varies between different organisations but is always consistently focused on supporting children of Service personnel.
If you would like to speak to Miss Patterson and/or believe your child is eligible for support, please contact the school office by telephone or email.
