A Message from Mr Griffiths
What a fantastic week it has been at Romilly!
Firstly, a huge thank you to all parents and carers for your patience and understanding as we rearranged several of our Sports Days due to our wonderful Welsh weather. Whilst the changes weren't ideal, it was certainly worth the wait!
Our Sports Day season began on Tuesday with our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils at Jenner Park. The sportsmanship, determination, teamwork and resilience on display were absolutely wonderful to see. The children represented Romilly brilliantly and should be incredibly proud of themselves.

The same can be said for our Year 2 and Year 1 Sports Days on Thursday, and our Nursery Sports Day on Friday. Across every event, the children demonstrated enthusiasm, encouragement and a real sense of community.

A huge thank you must go to Mrs Dobbs for her excellent organisation and coordination of our Sports Days, as well as to all of the staff who helped make the events such a success. Events like these take a huge amount of planning behind the scenes and we are very grateful for everyone's efforts.
Sponsored Bounce – Next Week!
Next week sees the return of our much-anticipated Sponsored Bounce! Please see the news section of this newsletter for further details, including information about parental consent and sponsorship. A huge thank you to our Friends of Romilly PTA for organising this exciting event.
Improving Communication
You may have noticed that this newsletter looks a little different this week. Over the coming months, we are working hard to improve communication between school and home and make key information easier to access.
As part of this work, we have launched a new school calendar which is linked directly to both our website and this newsletter. We would encourage families to regularly check the calendar for upcoming events and important dates.
In the coming weeks, we will also be launching a new school app. I know many parents and carers may be reluctant to download yet another app, but our aim is to create a single, easy-to-access place where you can find:
- School news and newsletters
- Upcoming events and calendar dates
- Letters and important communications
- Key school information
We know how busy family life can be and we recognise that there is always a lot happening at Romilly. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for families to stay informed and access information quickly when they need it.
Please bear with us as we continue to streamline and improve our systems. We are confident that these changes will make communication clearer, more consistent and more accessible for everyone.
Have a wonderful weekend.
