From Allotment to Harvest Festival! 🌱🎃

Year 6 Outdoor Learning at Romilly Primary School

Our Year 6 children have been getting their hands dirty this week as part of their outdoor learning sessions, helping to harvest the wonderful vegetables and squashes grown in our school allotment.

Armed with enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in, the children explored what had been growing in our allotment and carefully gathered the produce ready for our Harvest Festival celebrations.

After collecting their harvest, the children worked together to create a beautiful autumnal display, showcasing the colourful vegetables and squashes they had collected.

It was a lovely opportunity to bring learning to life, helping children understand where our food comes from, appreciate the changing seasons and recognise the hard work involved in growing our own produce.

Even better, the children's efforts helped make our Harvest Festival celebrations on Friday extra special!

At Romilly, we believe that some of the most memorable learning happens beyond the classroom. Our allotment provides a fantastic opportunity for children to develop practical skills, teamwork, responsibility and a connection with the natural world.

A huge well done to our Year 6 children for their hard work and for creating such a lovely contribution to our Harvest Festival!
