Children at Romilly Primary School are invited to take part in an art competition with artist Jenny Lambert.
The competition is open to all year groups (Nursery to Year 6). Children are welcome to create a piece of art at home to enter the competition. Please ensure all designs have been submitted to school by Monday 6th July.
Flying Start will be celebrating their 20th anniversary at Pencoedtre Park on 22nd July 10am-3pm.
On Wednesday 1st July the Memo Arts Centre in Barry will be holding the popular talent event, Y Fro.
4DW and 4DH have made a fantastic start to their swimming sessions at Barry Leisure Centre, showing excellent behaviour and growing in confidence daily.
As part of our arrangements during the current spell of exceptionally hot weather, we have created a Heatwave Home Learning Menu for our children to enjoy at home.
The menu includes a range of fun and engaging activities inspired by summer and the sunshine, including:
☀️ Becoming a weather watcher
💧 Carrying out simple science investigations
🎨 Getting creative through art and design
📚 Reading and storytelling activities
🧘♀️ Taking part in mindful movement and relaxation
🌿 Exploring nature safely outdoors
The activities are designed to be flexible and enjoyable and are entirely optional. There is no expectation for children to complete every activity. Instead, we encourage families to choose a few activities that appeal to them and enjoy learning together in a relaxed way.
With temperatures remaining very high, our priority is that everyone stays safe and well. We encourage all families to:

This week, Year 5 were invited to watch Matilda the musical at Whitmore High School. The students had a lovely time and several children have written a review of the show. Please find a lovely review below!
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our nursery parents for bringing your children to Sports Day and for your continued support.
We kindly ask parents and carers to ensure that toys, trading cards, collectables, fidget toys and other non-essential items remain at home.
Recently, a number of friendship issues and upset have arisen as a result of items being swapped, lost, damaged or causing disagreements between children. To help us maintain a happy, calm and inclusive environment for all pupils, we ask that these items are not brought into school.
Where a child requires a specific item as part of their agreed ALN provision, appropriate arrangements will continue to be made.

Family Help Out Day – Friday 10th July 9am–12pmAs part of our commitment to developing outdoor learning, we are looking for volunteers to help clear and improve areas of the school grounds. If you have access to strimmers, loppers or trimmers, we would be very grateful for your support. *New link below*
Logs Needed:We are hoping to create a log circle within our outdoor learning area. If any families have access to suitable logs, please get in touch.
Over the coming weeks, we will also be exploring ways for parents and the wider community to become more involved in supporting the school and PTA through volunteering and sharing skills or expertise.
