**Romilly Primary PTA AGM**

After a brilliant first year, we’re excited to be building on the momentum of our current PTA team - the team behind RomFest, the summer discos and many of the events that brought our school community together last year.

Our committee is made up of 9 elected roles: our current committee positions, plus two new roles focused on fundraising and grants.

All parents, carers and family members of Romilly Primary pupils are welcome to join the PTA. We rely on parent and teacher volunteers throughout the year to help make our events happen - these are open meetings and groups, you don't need to be elected in to get involved!

We’re also looking for class reps to help connect the PTA with families across the school. If you’re interested, please get in touch at Romillyprimarypta@hotmail.co.uk and let us know what class group you're linked to.

The 9 elected committee roles

1. Chair

Providing overall leadership for the PTA and helping the committee work together towards its goals.

2. Vice Chair

Supporting the Chair and stepping in when needed, while helping with the running of the PTA.

3. Secretary

Helping keep the PTA organised, including meeting notes, correspondence and committee administration.

4. Treasurer

Looking after the PTA’s finances, keeping accurate records and helping the committee manage funds responsibly.

5. Events

Helping plan and organise PTA events throughout the year, from family favourites to new ideas.

6. Grants 

Researching and applying for grants and funding opportunities that could benefit our school, helping us make the most of opportunities available to the PTA.

7. Communications & Social Media

Keeping parents and carers informed about PTA news, events, fundraising and opportunities to get involved.

8. School Liaison 

A key link between the PTA and school, helping to keep the PTA aligned with the school’s priorities. This role will take requests and ideas from staff, communicate them to the PTA and feed PTA plans and activities back to the school.

9. Fundraising

Taking the lead on fundraising activities, including lotteries, raffles and easy-fundraising schemes, as well as exploring opportunities such as local business sponsorship.

Whether you’d like to take on a committee role, become a class rep, volunteer at events or simply lend a hand when you can — every bit of support makes a difference.

With the rising costs associated with the return to school, we wanted to share some information from Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water that may help eligible families.

If you receive a means-tested or disability benefit, you may be entitled to financial support towards your water bill. Depending on your circumstances, you could receive up to £300 off your annual bill.

We are delighted to be offering a varied programme of after-school clubs this term. The clubs will begin during the week commencing Monday 21 September.

On Monday 14th September, we will email families with details of the clubs available and information about how to request a place through the Arbor app.

We are delighted to share some exciting news for our Nursery families.

From Monday 2nd November, Romilly Primary School will be opening a new Wrap Around childcare service for Nursery pupils.

Children attending our morning Nursery session will be able to remain in school after Nursery finishes and access childcare from 11:30am until 3:20pm, Monday to Friday.

We are especially pleased to confirm that Romilly has achieved its registration with Care Inspectorate Wales this week, which is a major step forward in getting the new provision ready to open.

There will be a charge for the Wrap Around service, and we are completing the final arrangements so that eligible families can access government childcare support, including the Childcare Offer for Wales (30 hours) and Tax-Free Childcare, where applicable.

Full information will be shared with families next week, including:

• fees and funding;
• booking arrangements;
• how to apply; and
• further information about how the provision will operate.

Completing the form is not a formal booking and does not commit you to using the service. It will simply help us understand likely demand as we complete our final planning.

We are really excited to be able to offer this new provision and hope it will provide greater flexibility and support for our Nursery families.

A huge congratulations to Sophia Crespo and Pheobe Clutterbuck, who will be leaving us on Monday to represent Wales in San Sebastián at the Global Dance Open, the world's largest dance competition. Being selected to compete at such a prestigious international event is an incredible achievement and reflects their hard work, dedication, and talent.

Our wonderful PTA  have raised an amazing £1487.63!!! 

All money raised will be going towards our new school library, which will be a wonderful resource base for the children.
